The Many Symphonies Of ConcertoFX 6

Concerto_Box_SmallHi everyone,

We released ConcertoFX only one week ago and we are receiving a lot of feedback and ideas about how to use it.

We anticipated that we are working on building a set of baskets to use it with.

Here’s a detailed list of those we came out with. Some of those are already on forward test, some will be started very soon.

ALL USD BASKET

This basket is made out of all the crosses with USD. Not only those made with the other 7 major currencies but with all those available in your platform.

Im my case (I’m using FinFX) the currencies used are:

  • AUDUSD
  • USDCAD
  • USDCHF
  • EURUSD
  • GBPUSD
  • USDJPY
  • NZDUSD
  • USDCNH
  • USDDKK
  • USDHUF
  • USDMXN
  • USDNOK
  • USDPLN
  • USDRUB
  • USDSEK
  • USDSGD
  • USDTRY
  • USDZAR

You can also add if you want:

  • XAUUSD
  • XAGUSD

COMMODITIES BASKET

I set this on FXPro as it does give you access to a larger number of commodities:

  • GOLD
  • SILVER
  • GOLDEURO
  • SILVEREURO
  • OIL
  • SOYBEAN
  • WHEAT

STOCKS and/or STOCK INDEXES BASKET

Again we’ll be working with FXPro as it gives you access to a large number of stocks and stock indexes.

We still haven’t created the forward account but we think we’ll add:

  • EURO STOXX
  • CAC 40
  • DAX 30
  • FTSE 100
  • SP500 Mini
  • NASDAQ
  • DOW JONES
  • NIKKEI

for the stock indexes.

But probably we’ll create baskets based on single stocks… any suggestion is welcome here. I don’t trade stocks since more than 15 years now and I’m interested in knowing what you think about it.

The kind of baskets you’ll be able to create will depend much on the instruments that your broker will make available on your MT4 platform.

Remember to adjust lot size so to keep risks as low as possible and to check for spreads and adjust the target profit as well.

In the coming days we’ll publish links to the forward test accounts of the above baskets.

This morning we also started testing it with different timeframes: both more long term and even short term (scalping approach).

Later this week we’ll release the update that will allow the use of the PotenzaFX indicator. Based on my test this should take ConcertoFX trading to an even higher level. But more about that in a few days. Unfortunately the use of PotenzaFX is restricted to the major Forex pairs so no Gold, stocks, etc.

I just want you to remind that only the first 100 copies of ConcertoFX will get:

  • Special price (33% off from regular price)
  • 3 months free Elite Membership (meaning that you’ll have free access to ANY EA and INDICATOR available in PimpMyEA.com now and for the next 3 months)
  • Partecipate to the extraction of a Motorola Moto 360 smartwatch

At the moment I’m writing only around 40 copies are left.

Have a great trading day,

Andrea

      Hi Pieter,
we have a forward test account running since 7 weeks now and more will be published soon.
There’s no backtest as we trade multiple instruments at the same time.
      Cheers,
      Andrea

Hi Andrea, I have two questions

!) Is there a practical maximum number of syphonies one can run on a single platform a/c – and what would be the drawbacks if any?

    2) Filling in the historical data is quite a chore – Is it possible that when it has been done on one platform to copy the files to another platform?

    Regards

    Jim

      Hi Jim,

      1) it depends on main factors: the first is the maximum number of open orders that you can have on a single platforms. This depends on your broker. Consider that using strategy 1 you may end up having 2 orders per instrument maximum, more with strategy 2 and just one per instrument with strategy 3. This may be easily solved using our “One4All“.

Second is the CPU and RAM load. On a regular modern PC you won’t have problems here but if you’re running the EA on a VPS you may have problems.

ONE IMPORTANT THING TO REMEMBER IS THAT EVERY BASKET MUST HAVE A UNIQUE MAGIC NUMBER. All the instruments part of the same basket must share the same Magic Number, but each basket must have a unique one.

      2) I perfectly understand you. If you are using the same broker you can simply “clone” (copy&paste) the folder with the MT4 platform if you are using it in “/portable” mode. This is what I do and find it a very useful and handy. I personally don’t like the new data/EA/instrument etc placement and always se MT4 in portable mode. It easy to do and I’m about to post soon about how to do that.

If the broker is different, you’ll probably have to re-download the historical data.

I hope this answers your questions,
      Andrea

    Hi Andrea, hi Paolo,
I wonder what is the closure strategy of ConcertoFX. I learn they are different, sometimes one trade only, sometimes many and the profit where the closure happens is very different as well.
    Please explain.
    Thank you for your support.
